diy Capiz Shell Overhang

When I was asked to host an bachelorette‍ brunch for Nashville influencer, Maddie Perry (@maddieperry) that was Rainbow Fish theme I immediately saw an Capiz Shell overhang, but after going down a rabbit hole I soon realized I couldn’t buy what I was picturing so I made it. This fun project results in a stunning piece that can serve as a focal point for any indoor or outdoor celebration.

MATERIALS NEEDED:

  • Capiz Shells - I opted for colorful ones from Amazon that were 2inches

  • Over the Table rod - any color would work as we covered the rod to lean into the theme

  • Clear string

  • Tulle & Cotton Fish Net to cover the rod (optional)


STEP ONE: Arrange your Capiz shells in the order you want to hang them and then carefully string them on the clear string.

STEP TWO: Hang the strings of Capiz shells to the rod.

STEP THREE: Wrap the tulle & fish net to cover the rod.

STEP FOUR: Host an party to show off your project & get ready to accept many compliments!
